Music has always been a strong part of my life and it remains a primary interest and source of enjoyment.
I have played in brass bands for 20 years and also conducted from the rather young age of 15. I play Eb or BBb bass tubas as my main instrument and I’m also pretty mean on trombone and percussion.
I also write and arrange music mainly for brass band but also for wind band, orchestra and soundtracks.
Trying out different instruments has always been a source of fun and I learnt to play piano, bass guitar, organ and other instruments although I rarely get much chance to play them now.
My current responsibilities include musical director and conductor of Backworth Colliery Band 
and tuba for New Tyneside Orchestra .
