A Computer Geek that likes Football? Obviously I love Football Manager simulators, starting from the Football Manager C64 version through to these modern incarnations.

My first career was on FM 2006, where I took Altrincham from the Conference to the Premier League and stayed there in 7 seasons. However I lost the dressing room and was sacked (I did tell Geoff Goodwin where he could stick his virtual coaches). I did take up a job at Man City and with U.S.A., but I quit for good after that.

My second career is now running on FM2007, and I took a different approach this time. I set myself up as an unemployed, but well-known, manager and saw what jobs were available. It's all well and good taking your boyhood team up the leagues, but this time I wanted to see how high up the tree I could climb.

I got the job at West Brom, and in 2½ years got them promotion into the Premier League and kept them there. I got bored though and after an iffy start to the 3rd season I quit for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa were in financial trouble when I took over, but I sold some players, got some more in on loan and got them in mid-table. I've just started a new season and Villa stand proudly on the top of the Premier League. What a manager!

I'm also England manager, and they have already qualified for the 2010 World Cup 18 months early under my reign. See Mclaren, it's not that hard.
